Class Expectations

Reception Expectations

We know we need to follow school rules inline with our behaviour policy, but we also have some additional expectations that we set, to ensure your children are getting the best out of their time in reception.

Here are our general expectations that we have and hope you continue to support us and your child, in ensuring they fulfil these expectations.

-Daily reading at home to be completed. Feedback to be written and recorded in their reading records to showcase how they have got on, areas of development or strengths.

-Reading books to be returned on a daily basis.

-A suitable book bag or back pack which can fit books, water bottles, letters in.

-Homework tasks to be completed in homework books when set and brought back in on the specified date (you will be notified of this when homework is given).

-Homework challenges to be completed over the academic term, alongside weekly homework in books.

-Water bottles to contain water only! (Juice can be provided for children on packed lunches, in separate bottles, to be drank only at lunch).

-All essential clothing and kits to be kept in school, all labelled with names.

-A kit bag to stay in school, with extra additional clothing which can be used for getting changed, additional layers and spares.

-Support and develop your child's independence skills- allow them to do more stuff themselves!

-Shared reading at home, which develops language and story comprehension.

Any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Thanks for your continued support! x
