We are delighted to announce that Catchgate’s ongoing commitment to mental health of our staff and pupils has been recognised and awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools and the Time to Change Employer’s Pledge. We are the first school in Durham to achieve this award and to sign the pledge.
We are immensely proud to achieve the Wellbeing Award for Schools, which has been supported by staff, children, parents and the local community and their commitment to our school ethos regarding the importance of mental health. We all take responsibility for each other’s wellbeing which has been acknowledged through these awards.
To celebrate our achievement, on Friday 24th May, the whole school will be holding a celebration event for Mental Health and Wellbeing within school, before our sponsored walk, to which you are all invited! If you are attending the walk please contact the school office to let us know, so that we can have your children ready to meet you at 1.20pm.
Children are asked to dress up in green clothing to represent mental health.
There will be a range of inflatables for children to access throughout the day; guest speakers attending school, name our mental health bear, ice cream van and lots more surprises! The cost of an ice cream is £1.00, if your child would like an ice cream on Friday could you please send it in to the school with their money before Thursday lunch time.
